If You Love Me won the 2009 "Official Selection" award at the Black Harvest International Film Festival. The film is a romantic drama, which uses humor to captivate the audience and explore black male attitudes toward sex, love and relationships. Late one night, the central character, Chris is visited by three of his close friends after their romantic relationships have all tanked: David a traveling business man was caught cheating on his wife, Andrew a gentlemanly nerd who gets treated like a doormat, and Mike a big-mouthed misogynist. During the course of the night, the men engage in witty, heart-felt and intimate conversations about their relationships. At the end of the film, the audience learns how each man has been transformed by his relationship.
The film and screenplay was written and produced by Chicago-based writer-director Lawrence Lee Wallace. Wallace is creative mind behind Urban Scenze the successful live sketch-comedy show and its video spin-offs .
