If You Could Say It in Words is a romantic film about a man named Nelson Hodge who lives with an un-diagnosed version of Asperger's Syndrome. He is a low class painter which is how he makes a living, and one day he meets Sadie Mitchell, who is a woman trying to get back on her own two feet. Nelson and Sadie have a chance meeting and begin to get involved romantically. Sadie feels free from the stress of everyday life when she is with Nelson, and for the first time ever he has strong emotions he hasn't felt before. The two face obstacles along their seemingly perfect relationship.
