I Want To Be An American is a Slam Collective documentary that features a young Cape town teenage boy who struggles with his need to maintain his own heritage while having the desire to move to America and become an American. Stix (the name of the nineteen year-old youth) has made it his life's quest to venture out into the world, and his primary desire is to go to America, a land that he can only read about in books and see through the screen of his television set.
