In the mystical kingdom of Emir, a beautiful princess named Mira is snatched away from her village on her wedding day by an immense dragon. No one suspects what has happened to her and her family mourns her death. Her betrothed, Arman, is destroyed by her apparent death, and becomes a bitter and reclusive man. A few years later, Arman decides to visit the remote island where the dragon is rumored to have taken Mira. As he journeys to the island, he unwittingly awakens the sleeping beast by ringing a bell on the island. The awakened dragon, who is in fact a shape-shifting humanoid creature cursed by an Evil sorceress to be a dragon, returns to the island to claim Arman as a prisoner.

While imprisoned, Arman discovers that Mira is alive and that she has been the dragon's captive bride for the past several years. Though she has grown to love her captor over time, Mira is heartbroken over her forced separation from her family, and her own dreams for the future.

As Arman struggles to free himself and Mira, the sorceress who cursed the dragon is also drawn to the island. She has returned seeking revenge against the dragon and the villagers who refused to help her in her time of need, and who laughed at her for trying to become a sorceress.

As the sorceress and the dragon clash in a battle of magic and wills, Arman and Mira try to escape their prison, and find a way to break the curse that controls the dragon's existence.
