Hypothermia is a 2010 horror movie that follows a family of three who go ice fishing on a frozen lake in Maine. Ray Pelletier, his wife Helen and their son Sammy are looking forward to a relaxing day on the lake, but their fun is cut short when they become stranded in the middle of the lake by a sudden snowstorm. As they try to find their way back to shore, they stumble upon a mysterious ice fishing shack. Inside, they find a strange man named Jack, who seems to be obsessed with catching a legendary fish known as "The Northern Pike". Jack invites the family to stay with him until the storm passes, but they soon realize that he has other plans for them.

The tension starts to build as Jack's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and disturbing. He seems to be taken over by an intense desire to catch the Northern Pike, and is willing to do whatever it takes to catch it. Jack's obsession becomes more and more dangerous, and the family realizes that they may not survive the night.

Throughout the movie, director James Felix McKenney creates a chilling atmosphere that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The bleak and desolate setting of the frozen lake adds to the feeling of isolation and helplessness that the characters experience. The score, composed by Jeff Grace, is haunting and atmospheric, and adds to the overall sense of foreboding.

Michael Rooker gives a stellar performance as Jack, the enigmatic and unstable fisherman. He manages to be both terrifying and sympathetic, as viewers see glimpses of the man he once was before his obsession took over. Blanche Baker and Benjamin Forster also give strong performances as the Pelletier family, who are forced to confront their own fears and weaknesses in order to survive.

One of the strengths of Hypothermia is its ability to subvert expectations. While the movie initially seems like a typical horror story involving a crazed killer in a remote location, the plot takes several unexpected turns that keep viewers guessing. The tension builds steadily throughout the movie, leading to a gripping and satisfying climax.

Overall, Hypothermia is a well-crafted and unsettling horror movie that is sure to make viewers think twice before venturing out onto a frozen lake. With strong performances, effective direction, and a suspenseful plot, it is a must-see for fans of the genre.

Hypothermia is a 2012 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 12 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.0.
