In the 1991 action comedy Hudson Hawk, Bruce Willis plays the titular character, a talented cat burglar who has just been released from prison after serving a ten-year sentence. Hawk is eager to put his criminal past behind him and start a new life, but things quickly spiral out of control when he gets dragged back into the game by his old partner in crime, Tommy Five-Tone (played by Danny Aiello).

Tommy has been blackmailed by a group of eccentric billionaires known as the Mayflowers, who have a devious plan to steal priceless artifacts from around the world and use them to build a massive machine that will turn lead into gold. The Mayflowers have enlisted the help of a femme fatale named Anna Baragli (played by Andie MacDowell), who seduces Hawk into unwittingly helping them with their heists.

Hawk soon realizes that he's been set up and decides to go on the run with Tommy and Anna, as well as a cast of wacky, larger-than-life characters including a pair of blonde twins with a penchant for violence, a bumbling CIA agent, and a butler with a secret past.

What follows is a wild adventure that takes the group from Rome to New York to the Swiss Alps, as they attempt to thwart the Mayflowers' evil plans and clear Hawk's name once and for all. Along the way, they encounter a series of outlandish obstacles, including a high-tech security system that turns into a video game, an army of assassin butlers, and a musical number featuring a group of nuns.

Hudson Hawk is a fast-paced, tongue-in-cheek romp that pokes fun at the tropes of both the action and heist genres. The film is filled with over-the-top action scenes, witty one-liners, and absurd plot twists, making it a perfect example of the type of popcorn entertainment that was popular in the early '90s.

The film also boasts an impressive cast, with Willis bringing a charming roguishness to the role of Hawk, and Aiello providing comic relief as his hapless sidekick. MacDowell, meanwhile, plays the role of the femme fatale with a mix of sultriness and intelligence, making for a refreshing departure from the typical Hollywood stereotypes.

Hudson Hawk wasn't a critical or commercial success upon its release, with many critics and audiences failing to appreciate its zany, self-aware humor. However, the film has gained a cult following over the years, with many fans appreciating it for its sheer ridiculousness and irreverence.

Overall, Hudson Hawk is a fun, light-hearted romp that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's a film that revels in its own absurdity, and is sure to delight anyone looking for some mindless entertainment.

Hudson Hawk is a 1991 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.7 and a MetaScore of 17.
