Hostile is a post-apocalyptic thriller movie directed by Mathieu Turi and was released in 2017. The movie stars Brittany Ashworth as Juliette, a survivor in a world overrun by creatures known as "The Reapers." Gregory Fitoussi plays Jack, a fellow survivor who finds Juliette in need of help and takes her with him as he navigates through a hostile world.

The movie's opening scene sets the tone for the rest of the film, as we see Juliette driving through a desolate wasteland. She is on a mission to collect fuel and supplies for her group's base camp, but she is ambushed by a group of Reapers who launch a brutal attack. Juliette barely escapes with her life, and her truck is left in ruins. With no other option, she sets out on foot and eventually stumbles upon Jack, who is on his way back to his own camp.

At first, Jack is hesitant to take Juliette with him, but he eventually relents when he sees that she is badly injured. The two of them make their way through the ruins of civilization, encountering all kinds of dangers along the way. Juliette is haunted by the memories of her past, and Jack is dealing with his own demons as well. Eventually, they find themselves faced with an impossible decision: continue on alone, or band together and fight for survival.

Throughout the movie, there are flashbacks to Juliette's life before the apocalypse. We see her as a successful young woman with a bright future ahead of her, but she is also deeply troubled. She has a strained relationship with her family and struggles with addiction. Through these flashbacks, we get a sense of the person Juliette used to be and how she became the survivor she is today.

As Jack and Juliette travel together, they come across a number of other survivors - some friendly, some not. There are moments of camaraderie and moments of intense violence. The Reapers are a constant threat, lurking in the shadows and attacking when least expected. The movie does an excellent job of building tension and creating a sense of unease. There are several scenes that are genuinely scary, and the creatures themselves are unsettling to look at.

One of the things that sets Hostile apart from other post-apocalyptic movies is its focus on character. Juliette and Jack are both complex, multi-dimensional characters with their own motivations and flaws. The movie takes the time to explore their pasts and show us how they came to be the people they are today. This makes it all the more suspenseful when they are faced with life-or-death situations, as we care about what happens to them.

The movie is also visually stunning. The desolate landscape is hauntingly beautiful, and the scenes of destruction are both impressive and terrifying. The cinematography is top-notch, with some truly breathtaking shots. The score is also noteworthy, adding to the tension and emotion of the film.

Overall, Hostile is a standout movie in the post-apocalyptic genre. It succeeds in being both suspenseful and emotionally resonant. The performances by both Brittany Ashworth and Gregory Fitoussi are excellent, and the movie is visually stunning. If you're a fan of horror or thrillers, this is definitely one to check out.

Hostile is a 2018 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 23 minutes.
