Horror High is a 1973 horror film directed by Larry N. Stouffer and stars Pat Cardi as Vernon Potts, a meek and introverted high school student who is constantly bullied by his classmates due to his quiet demeanor and lack of athleticism. After one particularly humiliating incident, Vernon is approached by his science teacher, Mr. Clemens (Austin Stoker), who offers to inject him with a serum that he has been developing which will increase his strength and confidence. Vernon eagerly agrees, but soon finds himself undergoing a terrifying transformation that he may not be able to control.

They knock his books out of his hands, call him names and push him around, causing him to stumble and fall into a nearby ditch. While doing so, Vernon stumbles upon a vial of a mysterious serum that Clemens has been working on. Driven by his desire to gain respect and show up his bullies, Vernon injects himself with the serum and is immediately overcome by intense pain.

From here, the movie takes a dark turn as Vernon begins to experience a range of unsettling and violent urges. He grows larger and more muscular, confronts his tormentors and becomes fixated on a girl named Susan (played by Rosie Holotik). Though at first he seems to be gaining the confidence and strength he needed to stand up for himself, Vernon's transformation quickly spins out of control. As he becomes more aggressive and unpredictable, he begins to target innocent people and wreak havoc throughout the school.

Throughout the film, we are presented with a number of unsettling and disturbing scenes that showcase Vernon's descent into madness. These scenes are often accompanied by eerie music and dark lighting that convey the horror of what is happening. While Vernon's actions become more and more violent, we also see glimpses of the timid and vulnerable boy that he once was, which makes his transformation all the more tragic.
