Hoodlum & Son is a comedy movie from 2003 that stars Mia Sara, Ted King, and Ron Perlman. The movie revolves around Angelo "Snaps" Provolone Jr. (Ted King), who is the son of a notorious gangster named Angelo "Snaps" Provolone Sr. (Ron Perlman). Snaps Jr. is a meek and timid man, who doesn't have the criminal inclination and lacks the courage to become a gangster, unlike his father.

Snaps Jr.'s father is at the death bed, and he tells his son that he's going to make him the new leader of the family business. With the responsibility of the family business on his shoulders, Snaps Jr. tries his best to go through the initiation process and learns the art of being a gangster. However, due to his timid personality, Snaps Jr. ends up failing time and time again.

To make matters even worse, Snaps Jr. falls in love with a beautiful woman named Roxanne (Mia Sara). However, he tells his father that he's gay, as he doesn't want his father to know about his love interest. At the same time, Snaps Jr. also has to deal with his father's mistress, who has just given birth to a baby boy that can potentially be his half-brother.

As a result, Hoodlum & Son is a movie about Snaps Jr.'s journey of self-discovery and trying to come to terms with the fact that he's not like his father, nor does he have to be. The movie is a comedy, and it contains a lot of funny moments and witty one-liners. Ted King's portrayal of Snaps Jr. is quite convincing, as he does an excellent job of playing a timid, introverted man who's trying his best to fit in with the criminal underworld.

Mia Sara's portrayal of Roxanne is also quite impressive, as she does an excellent job of playing a charismatic, attractive woman who's caught in between Snaps Jr. and his father's mistress. Ron Perlman's portrayal of Snaps Sr. is, as always, top-notch. He brings a certain gravitas to the role and manages to make the character both menacing and endearing.

Overall, Hoodlum & Son is a well-made movie that combines comedy, drama, and gangster themes quite well. The movie is an interesting take on the classic gangster genre and manages to bring something new to the table. The cast does an excellent job, and the direction by Ashley Way is quite impressive. If you're a fan of gangster movies or comedy films, Hoodlum & Son is definitely worth checking out.

Hoodlum & Son is a 2003 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 32 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.7.
