In the 1992 film Honey, I Blew Up the Kid, the Szalinski family is back with more mayhem and shenanigans. The movie stars Rick Moranis reprising his role as the lovable and quirky scientist, Wayne Szalinski, alongside Marcia Strassman as his wife, Diane, and Robert Oliveri as their son, Nick. The movie begins with the Szalinskis relocating to Las Vegas, where Wayne has taken a job at the Sterling Labs. He is working on a new invention that will allow him to grow plants to enormous sizes with the hopes of solving world hunger. However, his experiment goes awry when his two-year-old son, Adam, accidentally wanders into the lab and is zapped by the machine, causing him to grow at an alarming rate.

What follows is a comedic adventure as Wayne and Diane try to find Adam and reverse the effects of the machine. Throughout the film, they are chased by the careless and ruthless security guard, Clifford Sterling, played by John Shea, who wants to capture Adam and use him as a sideshow attraction at his casino.

As Adam grows bigger and bigger, he becomes more and more difficult to control. He throws tantrums, destroys buildings, and causes mass chaos. At one point, Diane has to climb up Adam's body to a giant piece of gum in his ear where she tries to communicate with him and calm him down.

Along the way, they meet a group of wild animals, including a friendly scorpion named Quark, who helps them navigate the desert and avoid danger.

In the end, the Szalinskis must use their scientific knowledge and ingenuity to stop Adam from wreaking more havoc and find a way to bring him back to his normal size.

One of the highlights of the film is the impressive special effects used to create the giant Adam. The filmmakers used a combination of practical effects and computer-generated imagery (CGI) to make the character come to life. The scenes featuring the oversized toddler interacting with the real world are well-executed and entertaining.

Another standout element of the movie is the chemistry between the cast. Moranis and Strassman have a great dynamic as the loving, but sometimes bickering, couple. Oliveri is charming as the curious and adventurous Nick, while actor Lloyd Bridges provides a fun cameo as the chief of police.

Overall, Honey, I Blew Up the Kid is a fun, family-friendly film that delivers laughs and excitement. The film may not be considered a classic, but it is certainly an enjoyable ride that will leave audiences smiling.

Honey, I Blew Up the Kid is a 1992 adventure movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 29 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.9 and a MetaScore of 50.
