Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House is a comedy film released in 2002 directed by Rod Daniel. The movie is the fourth installment in the Home Alone franchise and stars French Stewart, Erick Avari, Barbara Babcock, and Jason Beghe in leading roles. The movie begins with Kevin McCallister (played by Mike Weinberg) and his parents, Peter and Kate, getting ready to celebrate Christmas at their mansion in New York. However, things take a turn when Kevin's father's ex-wife, Natalie (Joanna Going), and her butler, Mr. Prescott (Erick Avari), move into the mansion as the house is under renovation.

Kevin does not like the idea of Natalie living in their house, but his parents ignore his concerns. However, when Kevin overhears a conversation between Natalie and Mr. Prescott about stealing some valuable art pieces from the mansion, he knows he needs to take action.

As the only person who knows the ins and outs of the mansion, Kevin decides to set up a series of traps to catch the thieves in action. However, Kevin soon realizes that he cannot do it alone and decides to call his old friend, Marv (French Stewart), and his accomplice, Vera (Missi Pyle), to help him.

Together, Kevin, Marv, and Vera set out to stop Natalie and Mr. Prescott from stealing the valuable art pieces. However, their plan does not go as smoothly as they thought, and they soon find themselves in a series of hilarious mishaps, leading to some of the iconic traps that the Home Alone franchise is known for.

The movie has a lot of humorous moments, and the performances by the cast are praiseworthy. French Stewart does a great job as the comedic villain, Marv, bringing his unique style of humor to the big screen. Erick Avari also shines as the butler, Mr. Prescott, who is not only sneaky and clever but also quite comical.

The movie also features some impressive set designs, particularly the mansion where most of the movie takes place. The Christmas décor, grand staircase, and luxurious interior make the mansion an impressive visual spectacle.

Another interesting aspect of the movie is how it incorporates elements from the previous Home Alone movies. For example, the iconic Kevin McCallister's traps make a return in Home Alone 4, although this time around, they are more elaborate and grander in scale.

Overall, Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House is an enjoyable movie that is sure to make viewers laugh out loud. Although it may not be as groundbreaking as the first two Home Alone movies, it still manages to hold its own and provide a good dose of holiday cheer.

Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House is a 2002 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 24 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 2.6.
