Hick is a 2012 drama film directed by Derick Martini, which is based on a novel written by Andrea Portes. The story begins with Luli a 13 year old young girl played by Chloe Grace Moretz, who gets fed up living with her alcoholic parents in Nebraska and decides to venture out on her own to the wonderful world of Las Vegas. Without much thought in to it, Luli grabs her purse, a few needed items, and a revolver she got for her birthday, and begins to hitchhike down the road. It doesn’t take long before a truck pulls over where she is introduced to a cowboy Eddie, played by Eddie Redmayne who is more than happy to give her a lift. As they continue down the road it becomes apparent that they don’t get along well, and she is back on the road again.

Her next encounter is with a girl named Glenda played by Blake Lively. Glenda introduces her to cocaine and then convinces Luli into helping her rob a gas station. Young and naive Luli finds Glenda a lot of fun and exciting. Glenda takes her to meet Lloyd, played by Ray McKinnon who is an alcoholic, and just so happens to have Eddie working for him.

Eddie ends up pulling Luli aside and lies to her, telling her that Glenda really doesn’t want her hanging around with her. Hurt and confused, she leaves with Eddie, which would turn out to be a big mistake. Luli’s innocence is quickly taken from her with Eddie and she soon realizes that he has some serious issues.

Luli ends up being held captive by Eddie, and she discovers that Glenda knew all along how Eddie was, because she finds Luli and tries to help her. Unfortunately Glenda's attempt to rescue her doesn't pan out and Luli is left on her own again, to find a way out.

Hick is a 2012 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 39 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.5 and a MetaScore of 28.
