Hayride is a 2012 horror film directed by Terron R. Parsons and starring Richard Tyson, Sherri Eakin, and Jeremy Ivy. The movie follows a group of teenagers who go on a hayride to celebrate Halloween in the small town of Pleasanton, Louisiana. The protagonist, Steven Summers, is the son of the local police chief, and he is dating Amanda, the daughter of the town's richest man. Steven's best friend, his girlfriend's brother, and two of their friends decide to join them on the hayride.

The group boards a tractor-pulled hay wagon which drives them through a cornfield. However, things take an eerie turn when they discover that the driver of the hayride has gone missing. The teenagers soon realize that they are not alone and that they are being stalked by a serial killer who wears a scarecrow mask.

As the night progresses, the group soon realizes that their Halloween adventure has turned into a night of terror. The killer's motives are not clear, and they do not know if they will make it out alive.

The film builds tension throughout, and the characters often find themselves trapped in seemingly impossible situations. The killer is always one step ahead of them, and the group is forced to fight for their lives in a game of cat and mouse.

The film's strongest point is its atmosphere, with the picturesque cornfields and small-town Halloween celebrations creating a sense of dread that grows throughout the movie. The scarecrow mask is also incredibly unnerving, adding an extra layer of fright to the already terrifying situation.

The acting in Hayride is decent overall, with Richard Tyson providing a solid performance as the town's police chief. Sherri Eakin, who plays Amanda, also does well in her role, conveying the fear and desperation of her character convincingly.

However, the film does have some flaws. Some of the dialogue feels disjointed and unrealistic, and the pacing can be slow at times. Additionally, the characters are relatively undeveloped, making it hard to connect with them on a deeper level.

Despite these shortcomings, the movie is still worth watching for horror fans, especially those who enjoy slashers and atmospheric horror films. The film manages to create a genuinely spooky atmosphere that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats throughout.

Overall, Hayride is a decent horror movie that tries to do something different with the slasher genre. While it may not be perfect, it is still an enjoyable watch for horror fans seeking a good scare.

Hayride is a 2012 thriller with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.4.
