In 2015, one of the most audacious heists in British history occurred in London's Hatton Garden jewelry district. The Hatton Garden The Heist movie, directed by Terry Lee Coker, is based on this true event. The film stars Michael McKell as Brian Reader, an aging thief who brings together a group of his old criminal associates to carry out the heist of a lifetime. Among the other members of the gang are Kenny Collins (Sidney Livingstone), Terry Perkins (Briony Scarlett), John "Kenny" Collins (Sidney Livingstone), and Danny Jones (Jordan Long). With their combined experience, they set out to steal millions of pounds worth of diamonds, jewelry, and other valuable items from the safe deposit boxes located in the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit Company vault.

The first half of the film introduces us to the characters and their individual backstories. We see Brian Reader as a quiet, unassuming man whose criminal past is unknown to most people in his life. Kenny Collins is a brash and impulsive thief whose wild behavior often lands him in trouble. Terry Perkins is a hardened criminal who's been in and out of prison for most of his life. John "Kenny" Collins is a skilled carpenter who uses his talents to help the gang with their preparations.

As the plan to execute the heist comes together, tensions rise within the group. There are disagreements over the timing of the burglary, the method of entry into the vault, and who will get what share of the spoils. The aging thieves are also physically challenged, with some members struggling to climb the stairs to the vault, while others have difficulty seeing in the dimly lit underground chamber.

Despite these setbacks, the group manages to overcome their problems and successfully break into the safe deposit boxes. However, their success is short-lived as the police soon become aware of the robbery and begin to close in on the gang. The second half of the film depicts the aftermath of the heist, with the aging thieves struggling to deal with the weight of their actions and the intense scrutiny of the police investigation.

Throughout the film, the character of Brian Reader is portrayed as the elder statesman of the group. He is both the mastermind of the heist and the voice of reason when tempers flare. The other members of the gang look up to him and respect him for his experience and expertise. Michael McKell gives a powerful performance as Reader, bringing an understated intensity to the role.

The supporting cast is also strong, with each actor bringing their own unique personality to their respective roles. Sidney Livingstone is particularly impressive as Kenny Collins, bringing a sense of danger and unpredictability to his character. Robert Putt is also memorable as the owner of the safe deposit company, who is both sympathetic and suspicious of the aging thieves' intentions.

Overall, Hatton Garden The Heist is an entertaining crime thriller that is well worth watching. The film succeeds in creating a sense of tension and atmosphere, as well as presenting an interesting and credible portrayal of the events leading up to the heist. Fans of heist movies and crime dramas should definitely give it a watch.
