This motion picture tells the tale of a man and his wife, who engaged in activities that were viewed by the outside world as being outrageous and beyond disrespectful. Hamsun, was one of the greatest Norwegians of the 20th century. He was a very well-respected author who had legions of fans. However, the downfall of his career occurred slightly after the brash author came out publicly with his support of the Nazi military. He and his wife had long been supporters of the most violent military in history. The film portrays Hamsun's and his wife's story as they go through the motions of going from a high to an instant low.
