Gunahon Ka Faisla is a Hindi crime thriller movie from 1988 that features a star-studded cast. Directed by Shibu Mitra, the film boasts performances by some of the biggest names in Bollywood, including Shatrughan Sinha, Dimple Kapadia, and Chunky Pandey. The plot opens with a wealthy family preparing to celebrate their patriarch's birthday. However, the festivities are cut short when the old man is shot, and the police are called to the scene. The family is left shaken and confused about who could have committed the crime.
Enter Inspector Karan Saxena (Shatrughan Sinha), a no-nonsense cop determined to solve the case. As he begins his investigation, he discovers that each member of the family has a motive for wanting the old man dead. From the victim's estranged wife to his greedy son, everyone seems to have a secret that they're willing to protect at all costs.
As Inspector Saxena delves deeper into the case, he discovers that the family's web of lies and deceit runs deeper than he could have ever imagined. With each revelation, he gains a new suspect - leaving the audience wondering who the real culprit is until the very end.
One of the standout performances in the movie is by Dimple Kapadia, who plays the role of the victim's stepdaughter, Roshni. Her portrayal of a confident and independent woman who stands up to her abusive husband (played by Chunky Pandey) is praise-worthy. Pandey, too, delivers a convincing performance as the abusive husband, whose character is one of the prime suspects in the murder case.
Shatrughan Sinha, as always, brings his signature style to the role of Inspector Saxena. His sharp one-liners and tough persona make for an entertaining and engaging character that keeps the audience hooked throughout.
As the plot unfolds, the tension builds, and the audience is kept guessing until the very end. With multiple twists and turns, the movie keeps the audience engaged and invested in the outcome of the case.
The film's music, composed by R.D. Burman, also deserves a special mention. Each song is well-placed in the narrative and adds to the overall mood of the movie.
Gunahon Ka Faisla is a well-crafted crime thriller that hits all the right notes. With strong performances by the cast, an intriguing plot, and great music, the movie is a must-watch for fans of the genre. It's a reminder of the kind of compelling crime dramas that Bollywood was capable of producing in the '80s.
