Gun Belt is a 1953 Western movie starring George Montgomery, Tab Hunter, and Helen Westcott. Directed by Ray Nazarro, the movie tells the story of a former gunslinger who becomes a lawman and tries to keep the peace in a Wild West town. The story begins with Jim "Tex" Wall (George Montgomery), a former outlaw who has reformed and taken a job as a deputy sheriff in the town of Turquoise. Jim is respected by the people of Turquoise and is well-liked by his fellow deputies. However, his past comes back to haunt him when a gang of outlaws arrives in town and starts causing trouble.

The gang is led by Dancer (Tab Hunter), a charismatic gunslinger who quickly gains a reputation as the fastest gun in the West. Dancer and his men are looking for revenge against Jim, who they believe betrayed them years ago. Jim, on the other hand, wants to keep the peace and tries to avoid a showdown with Dancer.

As the tension between Jim and Dancer builds, a woman named Helen (Helen Westcott) arrives in town. Helen is a singer who works at the saloon and catches the eye of both Jim and Dancer. While Jim is smitten with Helen, Dancer sees her as just another conquest.

As the situation in town becomes more volatile, Jim must decide whether to confront Dancer or try to find a peaceful solution. Meanwhile, Helen finds herself caught between the two men and must choose which one she really loves.

Gun Belt is a classic Western movie that features all the usual tropes of the genre. There's plenty of gunfights, horseback riding, and a romantic subplot thrown in for good measure. However, what sets this movie apart is the strong performances by the three leads.

George Montgomery is excellent as the conflicted lawman who has to face his past demons. He brings a sense of honor and integrity to the role, and you can't help but root for him to come out on top. Tab Hunter, meanwhile, plays the charming rogue with relish. He's suave, charismatic, and just a little bit dangerous, making for a compelling villain.

Helen Westcott is also great as the love interest caught between the two men. She brings a gentle beauty to the role and adds an emotional depth to the movie that might have been lacking otherwise.

Director Ray Nazarro does a good job of keeping the pacing tight and the action sequences exciting. There's never a dull moment, and the movie moves along at a brisk pace. The cinematography is also impressive, capturing the barren beauty of the Western landscape in stunning detail.

Overall, Gun Belt is a well-crafted Western movie that offers plenty of entertainment value. The performances are strong, the plot is engaging, and the action is thrilling. It's a must-see for fans of the genre and a good introduction for anyone looking to get into classic Western movies.
