Goli Soda is a 2014 Tamil-language action drama film directed by Vijay Milton. The movie follows four young boys, who are street urchins, struggling to make ends meet in Chennai. These boys, Kesavan, Pulli, Naidu, and Siva, work various odd jobs throughout the city and often find themselves in the midst of illegal activities to make a living.
Despite their difficult circumstances, the boys maintain a strong brotherly bond and share a deep sense of loyalty and protection towards one another. Their lives turn upside down when they cross paths with a powerful gangster, Koyil Kaalai (played by Srinivasan), who goes after them relentlessly in an attempt to seek revenge.
As the story progresses, the boys face numerous challenges and must use their wit and courage to fight against the gangster's thugs. They also receive help from unexpected sources, including a kind-hearted tea shop owner, a young girl who works as a servant, and a reformed gangster who becomes their mentor.
Kesavan (played by Kishore) is the leader of the group and is portrayed as a determined and fearless individual who does not back down from a fight. Pulli (played by Pandi) is the shortest and youngest member of the group and often uses his speed and agility to outsmart his enemies. Naidu (played by Murugesh) is the most innocent member of the group and often gets caught up in his friend's schemes despite his reluctance. Siva (played by Sree Raam) is the most reserved member of the group and often keeps to himself but is fiercely protective of his friends when needed.
The film's action sequences are well-choreographed and realistic, adding to the overall intensity of the plot. The performances by the young actors are also commendable, especially considering that the majority of the film was shot on location in Chennai's bustling streets.
One of the standout aspects of Goli Soda is its portrayal of poverty and the harsh realities faced by those living on the streets. The film conveys a sense of empathy towards the young boys and their struggles, highlighting the challenges faced by those living in extreme poverty.
Overall, Goli Soda is a gripping and entertaining watch that showcases the power of brotherhood and resilience in the face of adversity. The film strikes a balance between action and emotion, making it a worthwhile watch for fans of the genre. It's a must-watch for anyone looking for an engaging and well-executed action flick.
