Kenny Wells (Matthew McConaughey) is a desperate prospector, seeking for a lucky break. He decides to team up with a similarly desperate, and eager geologist, Michael Acosta (Édgar Ramírez). Together they set off on a wild and amazing journey to find gold. They travel to the uncharted jungles of Borneo, Indonesia. The two of them end up getting very lucky, and finding gold in Indonesia. Kenny and Michael soon discover that getting the gold was difficult but that it was nothing compared with what they have in store back in the United States. Michael and Kenny soon discover that keeping the gold is, quite possibly, even more difficult. With lots of unforeseen obstacles, they begin an adventure through the most powerful boardrooms of Wall Street. This film is loosely based on the true events of 1993 when a large amount of gold was supposedly discovered in jungles of Indonesia.
