Godzilla vs. Kong is a 2021 monster film directed by Adam Wingard. It is the sequel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Kong: Skull Island (2017), and the fourth film in Legendary's MonsterVerse. At the same time, Apex CEO Walter Simmons commissions a team led by geologist Nathan Lind to transport Kong to the Hollow Earth, believing Kong can lead them to a powerful energy source.

As Kong is transported on an enormous barge, Godzilla emerges from the ocean and attacks. An epic clash ensues between the two Titans, with Kong managing to gain the upper hand before falling from an aircraft carrier into the sea. Godzilla then disappears, having shown he is still the more powerful alpha.

Madison, Josh, and Bernie infiltrate Apex's Antarctica facility, where they uncover research into a mysterious substance called Nozuki, which can absorb and transmit a bio-acoustic signal. They realize Apex is using Nozuki to control the Titans, including Godzilla, and try to expose the truth. However, Walter Simmons has other sinister plans, and unleashes Mechagodzilla, a deadly robotic copy of Godzilla, to wreak havoc.

Meanwhile, Kong regains consciousness inside the Hollow Earth, an exotic subterranean world filled with ancient ruins and unusual creatures. Guided by local girl Jia, Kong explores his ancestral home and reconnects with his roots. After gaining new strength, Kong returns to the surface to once again confront Godzilla, hoping to halt his destructive rampage. An epic clash between the two alpha Titans takes place in Hong Kong, with the fate of humanity hanging in the balance.
