Global Baba is a 2016 Indian social satire film directed by Manoj Sidheshwari Tewari. The movie stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ravi Kishan, Abhimanyu Singh in the lead roles. The story of the film revolves around an influential godman who uses his power and influence to fulfill his greed. The story begins with a group of politicians who come across a Baba (godman) named Giri (played by Pankaj Tripathi) who has a significant impact on people in the area. The Baba has managed to influence not just the common people but even the politicians to follow him blindly. The Baba gains the power to make and break political careers and decides to use it to his own advantage.
Giri starts exploiting the people in the name of religion and spirituality, encouraging his followers to indulge in activities that are against the law. He convinces them that they will be rewarded in the afterlife and that their sins will be forgiven if they follow his rules. Meanwhile, a honest cop named Singh (played by Ravi Kishan) is appointed to track down the Baba and put an end to his wrongdoings.
Singh realizes that Giri is not just an ordinary Baba but a mastermind who has carefully crafted a chain of network. He has a huge support system of corrupt political leaders, businessmen and even the police force. The Baba uses his charm and influence to manipulate people and cover up his illicit activities. But Singh is not someone who is easily intimidated and he decides to take down the Baba and expose his true nature to the world.
As the story progresses, Singh faces several challenges and hardships. He is threatened, attacked and even falsely accused of crimes he didn't commit. But he does not give up and continues his fight against the corrupt Baba. Meanwhile, a young journalist named Sandhya (played by Sandeepa Dhar) joins him in his fight for justice.
Amidst all this chaos, a group of people who have been previously exploited by the Baba come forward to support Singh. They help him unearth key evidence that eventually puts an end to Giri's reign. What follows is a gripping climax that reveals the true extent of the Baba's greed and corruption.
Global Baba is a hard-hitting take on the gullibility of people when it comes to religion and spirituality. The movie exposes the dark side of the system and highlights the dangers of blind faith. It is a thought-provoking film that will make you question your own beliefs and leave you with a sense of profound realization.
The performances in the film are excellent. Pankaj Tripathi delivers a brilliant performance as the Baba, portraying a character that is both manipulative and charismatic. Ravi Kishan is equally impressive as the honest cop who goes to great lengths to bring the Baba to justice. Abhimanyu Singh is convincing in his role as the Baba's follower who is torn between his loyalty to the Baba and his conscience.
Overall, Global Baba is a well-made film that sheds light on a pertinent issue that is relevant even today. It is a must-watch for anyone who is interested in social issues and wants to gain a deeper understanding of the dangers of blind faith.
