It is during these sessions that the characters explore their identities, powers and how they come to be in their current predicament.

As the story unfolds, some shocking truths are unearthed about the three characters, their identities, and their powers. Dr. Glass tries to prove that he is not delusional and that his superhuman intellect is not a figment of his imagination. On the other hand, Kevin and David fight to prove that their abilities are real and not a result of mental illness. The three characters must decide whether to accept that they are mentally ill or to embrace their superhuman abilities.
