Paris Wagner, Steve-Michael McLure, and Kimberly Dawn Guerrero star in Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver, a 2011 horror-comedy film. This low-budget movie is directed by William Butler and written by Muffy Bolding and Aaron Strongoni. It is the third installment in the Gingerdead Man film series, following the 2005 original and the 2008 sequel.
The movie takes place in a roller derby rink called the "Fun Zone" in the 1970s. A group of roller derby girls, led by Cherry Adair (Paris Wagner), are preparing for a big match against their rivals, the Iron Crosses. Meanwhile, a serial killer named the Tootsie Roll Killer is stalking the streets and targeting roller derby girls.
The story kicks into high gear when a baker named Sarah Leigh (played by the infamous scream queen, Jackie Beat) introduces her new gingerbread recipe, which she claims is so good that it will bring the dead back to life. Of course, the Gingerdead Man (voiced by Gary Busey) reappears and causes chaos once again. He's now armed with a chainsaw and a new set of dance moves, and he's ready to kill anyone who crosses his path.
As the roller derby girls prepare for their big match, they discover that their opponents are actually part of a cult that worships the Gingerdead Man. The cultists are led by a deranged woman named Clarissa (Kimberly Dawn Guerrero) who believes that the Gingerdead Man is the key to her immortality. Things get even crazier when the Tootsie Roll Killer and the Gingerdead Man cross paths and go on a killing spree together.
The movie is a blend of horror, comedy, and campy 70s nostalgia. It features over-the-top death scenes, cheesy one-liners, and some impressive roller skating stunts. Paris Wagner, who plays Cherry Adair, is a standout in the cast. She's tough, funny, and kicks butt on the roller derby rink.
The special effects in Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver are not particularly impressive, but that's part of the film's charm. The Gingerdead Man is clearly a puppet that's been digitally enhanced, and some of the gore scenes are clearly low-budget practical effects. Despite this, the movie manages to be entertaining and funny throughout its runtime.
Overall, Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver is a fun movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's a tongue-in-cheek horror-comedy that fans of B-movies will enjoy. The roller derby setting and 70s soundtrack add to the movie's charm, and the performances by the cast are all enjoyable. If you're looking for a silly, low-budget horror movie to watch with friends, Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver is worth checking out.
