Gingerdead Man 2: Passion of the Crust is a 2008 horror comedy film, directed by Silvia St. Croix and written by Muffy Bolding. The movie is a sequel to the 2005 film Gingerdead Man and features the return of the titular character, a psychotic gingerbread man brought to life through a curse. The film stars Michelle Bauer as Betty, the owner of a struggling low-budget movie studio called Bearywood Pictures. Pieter Christian Colson plays Brick Fields, Betty's assistant and aspiring screenwriter, and Michael Deak portrays Amos Cadbury, a crazed fan of the original Gingerdead Man.
The plot of the movie centers around Bearywood Pictures' attempt to produce a new movie, a sequel to the original Gingerdead Man film. However, during filming, one of the crew members accidentally resurrects the Gingerdead Man cookie. The killer cookie goes on a rampage, brutally murdering members of the film crew one by one.
As the body count begins to rise, Betty and Brick are forced to team up with Amos, who claims to have knowledge of the original Gingerdead Man's weaknesses. Together, they must find a way to stop the murderous cookie before it's too late.
Gingerdead Man 2: Passion of the Crust is a gruesome and over-the-top horror-comedy that does not take itself too seriously. The film is filled with dark humor, gratuitous gore, and intentionally cheesy dialogue. Fans of B-movies and low-budget horror will find plenty to enjoy in this film.
One of the strengths of Gingerdead Man 2 is its cast of characters. Michelle Bauer and Pieter Christian Colson have great chemistry as Betty and Brick, respectively. Their banter is one of the highlights of the film, and they manage to inject some heart into the otherwise blood-soaked proceedings.
Michael Deak gives a memorable performance as Amos, playing the character as a cross between an eccentric inventor and a paranoid conspiracy theorist. His scenes with the Gingerdead Man are particularly entertaining, and his character provides some much-needed comic relief.
The film's special effects, while not always convincing, are a lot of fun. The Gingerdead Man himself is a mix of practical effects and computer-generated imagery, and his kills are creative and gruesome. The filmmakers clearly had a lot of fun coming up with new ways for the Gingerdead Man to dispatch his victims.
Overall, Gingerdead Man 2: Passion of the Crust is a silly, over-the-top horror flick that's best enjoyed with a group of friends and a sense of humor. While it doesn't quite reach the heights of cult classics like Evil Dead 2 or Army of Darkness, it's still a fun, if forgettable, movie that's worth a watch for fans of the genre.
Gingerdead Man 2: Passion of the Crust is a 2008 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 22 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.0.
