In the 1964 Japanese film Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster, the legendary monster Godzilla teams up with his fellow kaiju Mothra and Rodan to take on the three-headed monster King Ghidorah. The movie begins with a mysterious woman named Naoko (played by Yuriko Hoshi) warning that the end of the world is near. She claims to be a princess from the planet Venus, and says that a giant meteor will soon strike Earth and awaken all of the planet's monsters, who will then go on a rampage that will destroy humanity. Naoko's warnings are dismissed by authorities at first, but soon enough they witness strange occurrences such as earthquakes and meteor strikes that suggest something big is coming.

As it turns out, Naoko was right. A massive meteor hits a mountain in Japan, and soon afterwards Mothra appears to warn humans about the danger posed by three-headed monster King Ghidorah, whom Mothra says has come to Earth to destroy it. Mothra also pleads with Godzilla and Rodan to join her in fighting the destructive King Ghidorah, but initially they refuse.

Meanwhile, a reporter named Naoko's Sakai (played by Yosuke Natsuki) investigates the strange happenings, and meets a scientist named Dr. Tsukamoto (played by Akiko Wakabayashi) who has been studying the meteor that brought King Ghidorah to Earth. Together they try to figure out how to stop the monster and save humanity.

As King Ghidorah continues to wreak havoc across Japan, Godzilla and Rodan eventually change their minds and decide to team up with Mothra to fight him. The three kaiju battle King Ghidorah across the countryside, leveling cities and causing destruction in their wake. As the fighting intensifies, it remains to be seen whether the monster alliance will be enough to stop the fearsome King Ghidorah.

Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster was directed by Ishiro Honda and features a cast including Haruo Nakajima, Katsumi Tezuka, Shoichi Hirose, and Hiroshi Koizumi. The film is notable for its introduction of the King Ghidorah character, who would go on to become a fan favorite and a recurring villain in the Godzilla franchise.
