George of the Jungle 2 is a movie from 2003 and is a sequel to the popular comedy adventure of the same name. The film is directed by David Grossman and stars Christopher Showerman as George, Julie Benz as Ursula, Angus T. Jones as George Jr., and Thomas Haden Church as Lyle Van de Groot. The movie picks up where the first movie left off, with George now happily living in the jungle with his wife, Ursula, and their son, George Jr. George is still as lovable and goofy as ever, swinging from vines, talking to animals, and making his signature jungle calls. However, trouble is just around the corner for the family, as Lyle Van de Groot returns to the jungle, having escaped from prison.
Lyle is on a mission to find a hidden treasure in the jungle, and he sees George as the key to finding it. He tricks George into traveling to San Francisco with him, promising him that he will be able to reunite with his old friend, Ape. While in San Francisco, George encounters a whole new world that he has never seen before, complete with cars, skyscrapers, and even skateboards.
Meanwhile, Ursula and George Jr. are left in the jungle, trying to find a way to rescue George and get him back home. They are aided by their animal friends, as well as a new character, Betsy, who is a human friend of Ursula's.
As the movie progresses, George learns a valuable lesson about the importance of family and friends, and he comes to realize that life in the jungle is where he truly belongs. He must also figure out a way to stop Lyle from finding the treasure and destroying the jungle in the process.
The film retains the same slapstick humor and zany antics as the first movie, with George getting into all sorts of mishaps and misadventures in the unfamiliar territory of San Francisco. The addition of George Jr. adds a new dynamic to the story, as George must navigate the challenges of parenthood in addition to his other responsibilities.
The performances of the cast are all energetic and fun, with Christopher Showerman doing an excellent job of reprising his role as the titular character. Angus T. Jones brings a youthful energy to the film as George Jr., and Thomas Haden Church is delightfully slimy as Lyle, the film's villain.
Overall, George of the Jungle 2 is a lighthearted and enjoyable family comedy that will entertain both kids and adults with its silly brand of humor and charming characters. It is a worthy sequel to the original movie and is sure to please fans of the franchise.
