Freezer Burn is a comedy-drama movie from 2007 directed and co-written by Charles Hood. The movie was produced by Bigfoot Entertainment and stars Robert Harriell, Michael Consiglio, and Ivo Velon in the lead roles. The movie tells the story of Virgil, a down-on-his-luck rancher who faces various challenges in his personal and professional life. Virgil's ranch is on the verge of bankruptcy, and he has to deal with his father's Alzheimer's disease, a romantic interest in the form of a veterinarian named Renee, and his uncle's desire to sell their land to a shady casino developer.

Virgil's life takes a strange turn when he discovers a frozen corpse on his ranch. The corpse turns out to be a former government agent named Dr. Lance Lundgren, who went missing in the 1960s while conducting research on cryogenics. Virgil thaws the body, and Dr. Lundgren comes back to life. He becomes an unlikely partner to Virgil in a scheme to save his ranch from financial ruin.

Dr. Lundgren has been frozen for over 40 years, and he is still convinced that the Soviet Union is a threat to America. He possesses a wealth of knowledge about advanced technology, and he uses it to help Virgil solve his problems. Together, they build a machine that can convert manure into gold, which they plan to sell to raise money for the ranch.

However, their plans go awry when they attract the attention of various people who are all after the gold machine. These include government agents, mobsters, and the casino developer who wants to buy Virgil's land. The situation becomes even more complicated when the thawed-out Dr. Lundgren falls in love with Renee, causing a rift between him and Virgil.

The movie is a quirky and entertaining blend of comedy, drama, and science fiction. The performances by the main actors are excellent, especially Robert Harriell as Virgil and Michael Consiglio as Dr. Lundgren. The movie's plot is unpredictable, with plenty of twists and turns that keep the audience engaged.

Freezer Burn's production values are decent, considering its indie roots. The cinematography captures the rustic beauty of the Montana landscape, where the movie was shot. The special effects are limited but well-executed, considering the movie's low budget.

Overall, Freezer Burn is an enjoyable movie that offers a fresh take on the comedy genre. Its blend of science fiction and romance adds depth to the story and elevates it beyond mere slapstick humor. The movie's underlying theme of overcoming adversity and finding new opportunities in unexpected places resonates with audiences of all ages.
