In the movie Fred Claus, Vince Vaughn plays the title character, Fred, who is the younger brother of Santa Claus (played by Paul Giamatti). Fred is a fast-talking, cynical and self-centered guy who has spent his entire life resenting his brother's success as the head of the North Pole. While Santa is beloved by all, Fred has been living in his shadow and struggling to find his own identity.

Fred is a repo man who lives with his girlfriend, Wanda (played by Rachel Weisz), in Chicago. He's not happy with his life, nor is Wanda happy with him. One day, Fred gets arrested for trying to swindle an orphanage, and he's given an ultimatum by the prosecutor: either spend time in jail or come to the North Pole and work in Santa's workshop until Christmas.

Fred reluctantly chooses the latter, and he heads to the North Pole where he's greeted by his brother and introduced to the various elves who work in the workshop. Fred is tasked with making the naughty and nice list, and he quickly realizes that being Santa Claus is not as easy as it seems. He struggles to deal with the children who end up on the naughty list, including a boy who is desperate for a gift but whose parents can't afford one.

Meanwhile, back in Chicago, Wanda is visited by an efficiency expert named Clyde (played by Kevin Spacey) who promises her a promotion if she can find a way to make the orphanage profitable. Wanda decides to sell the land on which the orphanage is located, but this would mean that the kids would need to be relocated.

As the Christmas deadline approaches, Fred puts aside his differences with his brother and tries to save the orphanage by making sure that the boy on the naughty list gets the gift he wants. He also helps Santa get through a particularly difficult patch, and he even finds love with an elf named Annette (played by Elizabeth Banks).

Overall, Fred Claus is a heartwarming comedy that explores the meaning of family, forgiveness, and the true spirit of Christmas. The movie has a great cast, including Vince Vaughn, who is perfect as the fast-talking Fred, and Paul Giamatti, who brings a warmth and humanity to Santa Claus. The movie also features great supporting performances by Elizabeth Banks and Kevin Spacey, as well as some great cameos by Ludacris, John Michael Higgins, and Frank Stallone.

The movie is directed by David Dobkin, who previously worked with Vince Vaughn on Wedding Crashers, and he brings the same irreverent humor to Fred Claus. The movie does a great job of balancing the comedy with the heartwarming moments, and it's a great movie to watch with the family during the holiday season.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a feel-good movie that will put you in the holiday spirit, then Fred Claus is definitely worth checking out. It's a movie filled with laughter, heart, and warmth, and it's a great reminder of the importance of family, forgiveness, and the true meaning of Christmas.
