Meihua was born and raised in the southern province of China. As she grows older, her passion for painting grows deeper. When she becomes old enough, she travels to Paris to study art. There in Paris, she and a talented young photographer become close friends. Meihau and Stephanie soon develop intimate feelings for each other and begin a relationship. Both women experience ridicule from their families and society. Meihua and Stephanie must weigh the passion they feel for each other against what everyone else says and decide what is right for them.
