FernGully: The Last Rainforest is a beautifully animated children's movie from 1992. It tells the story of a magical rainforest and the creatures that inhabit it. At the heart of the story is Crysta, a young fairy who is curious, adventurous, and full of life. She lives in FernGully, a lush, remote rainforest that is home to a wide variety of creatures, from the tiny fairies to the majestic birds, monkeys, and bats. The movie is a celebration of nature, and it is filled with colorful characters, catchy songs, and plenty of eye-catching visuals.

At the beginning of the movie, we see Crysta going about her daily life in FernGully, exploring the forest and chatting with her many friends. She is still learning about the world around her, and she is often in awe of the beauty and complexity of the rainforest. However, her peaceful existence is soon disrupted when a group of humans enter the forest. They are there to collect timber, and they are completely unaware of the damage they are causing.

One of these humans is Zak, a smug and selfish young man who is only interested in making money. He accidentally meets Crysta, and the two of them form an unlikely friendship. Zak is initially skeptical about Crysta's claims that the rainforest is alive, but he soon learns the truth when he is shrunk down to fairy size and sees the forest from a new perspective. As he and Crysta explore the rainforest together, Zak begins to understand the importance of preserving nature.

Meanwhile, the rainforest itself is in danger. An evil entity called Hexxus, who is made of toxic waste, has been released from a tree that was cut down by the humans. Hexxus is a malevolent force that seeks to destroy the forest and everything in it. He sends his minions to capture Crysta and the other fairies so that he can feed on their energy and grow stronger. Crysta and Zak team up to fight Hexxus and his minions, using their wits and their courage to save FernGully from destruction.

Throughout the movie, there are plenty of memorable songs and musical numbers. Robin Williams provides the voice for Batty Koda, a goofy bat who is a bit of a loose canon. Batty is one of the highlights of the movie, and his song "Batty Rap" is an infectious tune that is sure to get stuck in your head. Other standout songs include "Rainforest Symphony," which showcases the beauty and diversity of the rainforest, and "Toxic Love," which is Hexxus's big musical number.

Overall, FernGully: The Last Rainforest is a delightful movie that is sure to entertain both children and adults. Its message about the importance of environmental conservation is still very relevant today, and its colorful characters and imaginative settings make it a joy to watch. Whether you're discovering it for the first time or revisiting it after many years, FernGully is a movie that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
