Fender Bender is a 2016 horror-thriller film directed by Mark Pavia and stars Makenzie Vega, Cassidy Freeman, and Bill Sage. The film revolves around a teenager named Hilary (Vega) who gets into a minor car accident with a stranger. After exchanging information, Hilary starts to receive mysterious phone calls and notices the stranger is stalking her.

The movie opens with a prologue set in the late 80s, featuring a teenager who is being stalked and murdered by an unknown assailant. The story then cuts to present-day Albuquerque, New Mexico, where we meet Hilary. She is excited to get her first car and be done with her mother's constant chauffeuring. She meets her best friend Rachel (Dre Davis) at a car wash and shows off her new ride, a classic cherry red Mustang.

While driving home, Hilary accidentally rear-ends another car. She speaks with the other driver, a middle-aged man named Driver (Bill Sage), and they exchange information, with Driver writing his address and phone number down on Hilary's fender. Hilary goes home and tries to forget about the incident, but things start to get strange. She receives an anonymous phone call with heavy breathing on the other end.

The next day, Rachel tells Hilary that she also received a strange phone call from a mysterious voice. Hilary starts to become paranoid and goes to the police to report the incident. The police brush her off, insisting that the phone call could have been a prank. But Hilary isn't convinced and starts to investigate on her own.

As Hilary tries to uncover the mystery behind the phone calls, Driver starts to stalk her. He creeps around her house and even goes into her room at night. It becomes clear that Driver is a sadistic serial killer who enjoys playing cat and mouse with his victims. He was involved in the accident with Hilary on purpose and picked her as his next target.

Fender Bender is an homage to 80s slasher films, evident in its plot beats and execution. The movie is very smartly written, as it slowly builds tension and creates an atmosphere of dread. The characters are fleshed out, and you care about them as they discover the horrors around them. The actors all do excellent jobs, especially Makenzie Vega as Hilary, who carries most of the film.

The film's pacing is excellent, and it uses its small budget well. The sets and effects are simple but effective, and the movie has a grittiness to it that gives it an indie feel. The score is also noteworthy, as it's composed by the legendary rock band Cheap Trick.

Overall, Fender Bender is a solid horror-thriller that is not over-the-top in its gore and violence. It's a film that relies on atmosphere and tension, with a good dose of suspense thrown in. It's not just a movie for horror buffs but also for anyone who enjoys a good thriller.

Fender Bender is a 2016 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.9.
