Father of the Bride Part II is a 1995 American comedy film directed by Charles Shyer and starring Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, and Martin Short. It is the sequel to the 1991 film, Father of the Bride, and based on the 1951 novel of the same name by Edward Streeter. The film follows the life of George Banks, played by Steve Martin, who is now a grandfather, having recently welcomed his first grandchild. Meanwhile, his wife, Nina, played by Diane Keaton, discovers that she is pregnant. This prompts George to go through a mid-life crisis, as he grapples with the idea of becoming a father again.

The film opens with George’s daughter, Annie, played by Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and her husband, Bryan, played by George Newbern, announcing that they are having a baby. George is thrilled at the news and begins to get excited about the prospect of being a grandfather. However, his happiness is short-lived when his wife, Nina, breaks the news to him that she is also pregnant.

Overwhelmed with the thought of being a new father again, George begins to act erratically, much to the dismay of his family and friends. He tries to rekindle his youth by buying a sports car and getting a new haircut, but his antics only make things worse. She is due very shortly, and George must come to terms with the fact that he has to be a father again.

As the pregnancy progresses, George begins to feel more and more out of place, as he is surrounded by younger parents who seem to have it all figured out. He seeks the help of his friend, Franck Eggelhoffer, played by Martin Short, who attempts to cheer George up by throwing him a bachelor party, complete with female strippers, which ultimately leads to a disastrous chain of events. But, George is determined to make it through these hardships and be there for his wife, Nina.

At the same time, Annie’s pregnancy is also causing stress on the family, as she suffers from extreme morning sickness and Bryan becomes obsessed with creating a “perfect” nursery. The two storylines intersect when Nina goes into labor on the same day as Annie’s baby shower. Chaos ensues as both families rush to the hospital, resulting in some hilarious and heartwarming moments.

Throughout the film, George is forced to confront his fears of becoming a father again and adjust to the changes in his life. He ultimately learns that age is just a number and that he can still embrace life and love, despite his insecurities. The movie ends with the birth of Nina and George's baby and the family coming together to celebrate the new addition.

Father of the Bride Part II is a heartwarming and humorous film that explores the challenges of parenthood, love, and aging. The chemistry between the cast members, particularly Steve Martin and Diane Keaton, is excellent, and the film delivers genuine laughs and moments of tenderness. It is a must-watch for fans of the first film and anyone looking for a fun and uplifting movie experience.

Father of the Bride Part II is a 1995 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 46 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.1 and a MetaScore of 49.
