Fat Albert is a comedy and lighthearted film which goes deep into the comedy television show Fat Albert and how the characters come to life. The movie showcases how a young girl named Doris is still dealing with a huge set of sadness after her Grandfather's death. Her foster sister, Lauri, is actually a bit more popular at school than Doris, so she tries to help Doris achieve a better social life. After learning that her parents are out for the weekend, Doris drops a tear into her remote during the tv show, Fat Albert and the Cosby kids. That single tear ends up opening the portal between television and the real world as Fat Albert begins to see Doris crying. Fat Albert and his gang is known for solving problems, so they jump out of the television to help her stop crying.

Fat Albert and his gang try to get back into the tv to join in on their show, but they end up having to wait for another day before they can jump in again because of the fact that their tv show ended. They go around often with Doris trying to help her solve her problems and remove all of the grief that she is dealing with. They go to school with her and are literally awestruck at how laptops and the latest technology actually work. The film is wonderful because it showcases how they help Doris overcome her bad feelings and grief.

By the end of the movie, Albert develops a love for Lauri and tries to stay in the human world to be with her and Doris. He decides to ask for guidance on whether he should stay or not because his fellow gang members already went home, so he asks Bill Cosby himself for what he should do. He is told by Bill Cosby that he will turn into dust within weeks if he does not go back into the television set with his fellow friends. He decides that going back inside is the best possible choice to keep the show going and continuing.

In the movie, Fat Albert also goes through challenges alongside Doris, but the story ends up making everybody in the movie happy. This is why Fat Albert is a movie for the family because it has a great story, wonderful plot, and children love it when they watch cartoon characters come to life. Fat Albert is a movie for all ages, and its story is appropriate for everybody to view.
