Exiled is a dramatic thriller movie from 1992 that revolves around the story of a man who is falsely accused of a crime and is forced to live on the fringes of society. Directed by Jean-Pierre Lefebvre, the movie stars Maxwell Caulfield as a young protagonist, Edward Albert as his mentor, and Viveca Lindfors as the only person willing to help them.
At the beginning of the movie, Caulfieldâs character, named Kenny, is a successful young businessman who has everything money can buy. However, his life takes an unfortunate turn when he is falsely accused of murder and is sent to prison. As his life begins to unravel, he meets a seasoned inmate named Rafferty, played by Edward Albert, who takes him under his wing and teaches him how to survive in prison. Rafferty also promises to help Kenny clear his name and get out of prison by finding the real killer.
After spending several years in prison, Kenny is finally released, only to discover that he is now a marked man. The killer, who is still at large, is after him and he is forced to go into hiding. With nowhere else to turn, Kenny seeks help from Lindforsâ character, Trudy, who is an old acquaintance of Raffertyâs. Though reluctant at first, Trudy agrees to help Kenny and the two set off on a journey to find the killer and clear Kennyâs name.
The rest of the movie is a thrilling and suspenseful ride as Kenny and Trudy try to stay one step ahead of the killer who is hot on their trail. Along the way, they encounter several obstacles and challenges, including corrupt cops and criminals who have their own reasons for wanting them dead. But despite the odds, Kenny and Trudy remain determined to succeed, even if it means risking their own lives.
The acting in Exiled is of a high standard, with each of the lead actors delivering compelling performances. Caulfield is convincing as the young businessman who is forced to adapt to life behind bars, while Albert is excellent as the seasoned inmate who takes Kenny under his wing. Lindfors also shines in her role as the tough and resourceful Trudy, who is willing to do whatever it takes to help Kenny.
The direction by Lefebvre is also noteworthy, with the movieâs pacing and tone perfectly suited to its subject matter. The gritty and dark visuals further enhance the movieâs sense of urgency and danger, while the soundtrack helps to build suspense and tension.
Overall, Exiled is an engaging and well-crafted thriller that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
