Excess Baggage is a 1997 romantic crime-comedy film that follows Emily, a wealthy and rebellious young woman who fakes her own kidnapping in order to get her father's attention. She locks herself in the trunk of her car and plans to stay there until her father pays the ransom. However, things take a dramatic turn when Vincent, a car thief, inadvertently steals the car with Emily in it.

As Vincent tries to get rid of the car, he discovers Emily in the trunk and becomes entangled in her scheme. The two go on the run together, with Emily's father and the police hot on their heels. Along the way, they encounter a colorful cast of characters, including a hitman hired to kill Emily, played by the legendary Christopher Walken.

Alicia Silverstone shines in her portrayal of Emily, a young woman who just wants to be noticed by her neglectful father. She brings both vulnerability and strength to the character, and her chemistry with Benicio Del Toro's Vincent is palpable. Del Toro gives an excellent performance as well, as a tough and streetwise car thief who finds himself in over his head.

Christopher Walken steals the show as always, playing the hitman with his signature quirky charm. His scenes with Silverstone are particularly memorable, as they engage in a game of cat and mouse throughout the film.

The film is directed by Marco Brambilla, who infuses the story with a stylish and playful sensibility. The music, by composer Danny Elfman, adds to the film's whimsy and sense of adventure.

Overall, Excess Baggage is a fun and entertaining film that combines romance, comedy, and crime in a unique way. It has a strong cast, a clever plot, and plenty of action and suspense to keep audiences engaged until the very end.

Excess Baggage is a 1997 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 38 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.4 and a MetaScore of 34.
