Evil Bong 666 is a horror-comedy movie released in 2017, directed by Charles Band, and is the sixth installment in the Evil Bong franchise. The movie stars Mindy Robinson, Sonny Carl Davis, and Robin Sydney. The movie begins with three stoners, Rabbit (Sonny Carl Davis), Faux Batty (Robin Sydney), and Misty (Jessica Morris), visiting a seedy strip club called Smoking Pot. The club is run by Eebee (voiced by Michelle Mais), an intelligent and malevolent bong who traps unsuspecting people within her smoky haze.
During their visit, Rabbit purchases an antique bong, unaware of its dark history. The bong, which is later revealed to be possessed by an evil demon, unleashes chaos on the club, leading to the death of several patrons. Eebee is upset at the interruption and, to attain revenge, enlists the help of Lucifer's niece, Lucy Furr (Mindy Robinson), to get the bong back.
Lucy Furr and Eebee hatch a plan to get the antique bong from Rabbit, using his love for Misty to lure him into a false sense of security. However, the plan backfires when Lucy Furr falls under Rabbit's spell and becomes conflicted with her evil intentions.
As the conflict between Eebee and Lucy Furr continues, another antagonist enters the story, the devil's assistant, The Gingerdead Man (also known as Abbey Normal), who was previously considered dead. However, he has resurrected, wanting revenge on those who put him down.
The rest of the movie follows the tumultuous events that ensue between Eebee, Lucy Furr, Rabbit, Misty, and Gingerdead Man, leading to several gory and shocking moments.
Evil Bong 666 stays true to the Evil Bong franchise's style of combining dark humor, horror, and stoner culture. The story manages to be engaging despite its predictable and clichéd elements. The standout performers in the movie are Mindy Robinson as Lucy Furr and Sonny Carl Davis as Rabbit, providing the film with a contrast in character arcs.
The cinematography and set designs are notable, effectively creating a seedy and eerie atmosphere, capturing the ambiance of underground strip clubs. The music score complements the scenes well, composed of ominous and threatening music in the dark moments and upbeat music during the lighthearted scenes.
However, the movie falls short in some aspects, with one being the absence of the OG cast that fans have grown accustomed to seeing in previous Evil Bong movies. The inclusion of new and different characters is not entirely unsuccessful, but it does not provide the same level of entertainment and familiarity.
To conclude, Evil Bong 666 is an absolute must-watch for fans of the previous Evil Bongs movies and newcomers to the franchise. The movie delivers on its promises, combining horror, dark humor, and stoner culture. While it may not be the most original in its storytelling aspects, the movie makes up for it with its enjoyable characters and over-the-top gore scenes.
Evil Bong 666 is a 2017 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 5 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.7.
