In the movie Escape from the Bronx, we are taken on a wild ride through a war-torn Bronx in 1990, where crime and violence have taken over. The film is a sequel to 1990: The Bronx Warriors, but can be watched as a standalone movie. Mark Gregory stars as Trash, a streetwise rebel who leads a gang against the evil corporation, the Manhattan Corporation. The corporation plans to demolish the Bronx and build a new city in its place, but Trash and his gang won't let that happen without a fight.

The movie begins with a violent attack on a peaceful Bronx community. The Manhattan Corporation, led by Henry Silva's character, Hammer, sends its soldiers, called the Disinfestors, to eradicate the community. The Disinfestors are brutal, armed with flamethrowers and other lethal weapons, and show no mercy to anyone in their way.

But Trash and his gang are not easily intimidated. They fight back with everything they have, including homemade bombs and Molotov cocktails. Trash also uses his quick thinking and street smarts to outsmart the Disinfestors. He even manages to kidnap Hammer's wife, played by Valeria D'Obici, to bargain with her husband.

The action-packed movie is rich with stunts, explosions, and car chases, showing off the best of the Italian post-apocalyptic genre. The movie is heavily influenced by Mad Max, showing off brutal gangs fighting with each other and a strong, charismatic leader who can handle anything thrown his way.

Escape from the Bronx is directed by Enzo G. Castellari, who has a track record of successful Italian genre films, including The Inglorious Bastards and Shark Hunter. Castellari's directing style is evident in the movie's high-octane action sequences and use of slow motion.

The movie's soundtrack features a mix of disco and synthesizers, perfectly fitting with the movie's post-apocalyptic setting. The costumes and set design are also impressive, showcasing the desolated streets of the Bronx, littered with garbage and raw graffiti.

The film's plot is straightforward and does not leave room for any complex character developments. Nonetheless, the movie is an enjoyable ride and a must-watch for fans of the Italian post-apocalyptic genre. Mark Gregory's performance as Trash is effortless, and he exudes the charisma and charm required to lead his gang against the Manhattan Corporation.

Escape from the Bronx delivers what it promises: a thrilling and action-packed ride through the gang-infested streets of the Bronx. It's a great example of Italian genre cinema from the '80s, showcasing the country's creativity and talent in film. If you're looking for an enjoyable, high-octane film, Escape from the Bronx is a movie for you.

Escape from the Bronx is a 1985 science fiction movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 22 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.7.
