A retired army vet with a background in the martial arts completes his formal training and gains the respect of his teacher. Cole (Franco Nero) has all of the qualities and skills of a warrior of ancient times and a warrior in the modern world. Along with his new love Mary Ann (Susan George), they set-off on a mission to settle down together. They both want a life away from war and conflict.

Cole is drawn to the events of a past war buddy who chooses to carve-out a life in a strange Asian land. As he and Cole grow closer, they cross paths with the Hasegawa clan. This clan is ruled by an international warlord and has hundreds of trained deadly assassins at its command.

Cole's refined skills as a Ninjitsu-Ryu master make him the most qualified person to save his buddy, protect his finance', and etch his own legendary story in the annals of the deadly arts of the East. This ninja showdown features the elements of great martial arts storytelling and cinematography that has influenced martial arts movie-makers over the past four decades.
