Thet Sambath carefully investigates the Killing Field massacres, losing an entire decade of his personal life in the process. During this time, he acquires the trust of many of those responsible for the slaughter, and he records their accounts of the tragedies. Having lost his parents and siblings to the Killing Fields as a young man, his obsession with uncovering why his family was taken from him leads us to a larger understanding of what happened.
