Encino Man is a 1992 American comedy film directed by Les Mayfield and starring Sean Astin, Brendan Fraser, and Pauly Shore. It tells the story of two high school students who discover a frozen caveman in their backyard and bring him back to life. The film begins with two best friends, Dave Morgan (Sean Astin) and Stoney Brown (Pauly Shore), who are constantly bullied at school by a group of popular jocks led by Matt (Michael DeLuise). One day, while digging a pool in Dave's backyard, they discover a frozen caveman. They manage to thaw him out using a hair dryer and a microwave, and name him Link (Brendan Fraser).

Link, who is used to the Stone Age, has difficulty adapting to the modern world. However, he quickly becomes popular at school, impressing everyone with his strength, agility, and cool-looking caveman outfit. Dave and Stoney decide to use Link's popularity to their advantage, and start throwing wild parties at Dave's house, which become the talk of the town.

However, as Link becomes more integrated into modern society, he starts to lose touch with his caveman roots. He starts dressing like everyone else, starts speaking in complete sentences and even falls in love with a beautiful girl named Robyn (Megan Ward). Meanwhile, Dave and Stoney are forced to deal with the consequences of their irresponsible behavior, including angry parents, a trashed house, and a visit from the police.

Throughout the film, Encino Man delivers plenty of laughs with its silly humor and quirky characters. Sean Astin and Pauly Shore provide a great dynamic as the two best friends, with Shore's character providing most of the film's comic relief. Brendan Fraser, who is virtually unrecognizable under all the makeup and hair, does a great job as Link, the lovable caveman.

The film also features several memorable scenes, including a hilarious dance sequence at a high school dance, as well as a cameo by rock band, The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The soundtrack is also filled with classic 90s hits, including "Whip It" by Devo and "Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer.

Overall, Encino Man is a fun, lighthearted comedy that perfectly captures the spirit of the 90s. With its memorable characters, silly humor, and great soundtrack, it's easy to see why this movie has developed a cult following over the years.

Encino Man is a 1992 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 28 minutes. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.8 and a MetaScore of 25.
