It's the late 18th century in New Spain, and Mexico's War of Independence is nearly at hand. Jeronimo Marani works in Mexico City as the royal court's official choreographer. Jeronimo is just a minor bureaucrat, but he feels a need to speak out about the injustices of the Spanish Inquisition. Unfortunately, exposing the abuses and corruptions perpetrated by the government and the church will not be easy. Jeronimo's stand will put not only his own life at risk, but also the lives of his family. El baile de San Juan (The Dance of San Juan) is a Mexican historical drama.
