Eden Lodge is a psychological thriller that tells the story of a young couple, Gerald and Alice, who retreat to a remote and desolate motel in the woods for a much-needed vacation. Upon arrival, they find themselves the only guests in the eerie lodge, which is run by a strange and eerie woman, named Martha. Despite the peculiar surroundings, the couple tries to make the most of their time together.
However, as the days pass by, Gerald and Alice begin to experience a series of unsettling events. They hear strange noises in the night, encounter mysterious guests who disappear without a trace, and witness local wildlife acting in unusual ways. As they try to investigate the disturbing occurrences on their own, they find that they are completely isolated and cut off from civilization, with no help in sight.
Desperately trying to uncover the truth and escape the bizarre location, the couple begins to crack under the pressure. Tensions rise, secrets are exposed, and fears are realized with each passing moment. As Gerald and Alice descend into madness, they must come to terms with a darkness that consumed the lodge long ago.
Aggy K. Adams, who plays Alice, delivers a convincing and haunting portrayal of a woman on the brink of collapse. She captures the character's desperation and determination in a way that resonates with the audience. Georgina Blackledge is equally impressive as the enigmatic Martha, who always seems to be hiding something.
Cyd Casados, who plays a secondary role, brings a sense of mystique to the film with her portrayal of a local woman who seems to know more than she lets on. Her performance adds to the overall feeling of dread that permeates the movie.
The film's director, Andreas Prodromou, creates a disturbing and atmospheric atmosphere through his use of lighting, sound effects, and camera angles. The cramped and dimly lit interiors of the lodge create a sense of claustrophobia, while the open spaces of the surrounding woods imply the possibility of escape.
Overall, Eden Lodge is a solid psychological thriller that will leave viewers on edge throughout its runtime. The film offers a compelling mystery that is not easily unravelled, with both eerie and terrifying moments. It is an engaging and suspenseful film that delivers a satisfying conclusion.
