Early Release (AKA Mommy's Prison Secret) is a dramatic made-for-television movie that tells the story of a mother who falls from grace, her daughter, and their journey towards redemption. We see Taylor struggling to find a job, facing rejection after rejection because of her criminal record. She faces financial hardships that threaten to derail her progress. Meanwhile, Brooke, who is struggling with her own issues, is dealing with school bullies and a crush on her school's star athlete, which complicates things further.

The cast does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life. Kelli Williams delivers a solid performance as Taylor Reynolds, portraying a woman who is desperate to make amends for her past mistakes while willing to do whatever it takes to rebuild the broken bond with her daughter. Niamh Wilson, in turn, provides an eye-opening performance as Brooke, bringing to life the struggles and emotions of a teenager whose life has been turned upside down.

Sarain Boylan and Conrad Coates, who play Taylor's estranged sister and a prison guard, respectively, are also excellent. Sarain Boylan delivers an understated and nuanced performance as Taylor's sister, who is understandably cautious about trusting her sister again, while Conrad Coates delivers a convincing performance as the prison guard who befriends Taylor and becomes a sympathetic ear.

Overall, Early Release (AKA Mommy's Prison Secret) is a well-crafted and well-acted family drama that is sure to tug at the heartstrings of viewers. It deals with complex themes like redemption and forgiveness and showcases the power of love and sacrifice. The story is compelling, and the pacing is perfect, keeping the viewer engaged throughout. While some may find the premise a bit clichéd, the superb performances of the cast and the emotional depth of the story make up for it. Highly recommended.
