Watch Dream

Dream is a 2008 South Korean film that tells the story of Jin, played by Joe Odagiri, a talented professional soccer player who suffers a devastating injury during a game that effectively ends his career. Jin then loses everything: his career, his girlfriend, and his identity. He becomes a washed-up drunk and lives like a vagrant. One day, Jin meets a young woman who works at a bowling alley, named Su-jin, played by Lee Na-young. Su-jin is a teenage girl who is dedicated to bowling, and she is trying to become a professional player. Jin, who is always drunk at the bowling alley, becomes interested in Su-jin’s bowling talent and becomes her coach.

Initially, Jin trains Su-jin half-heartedly, as he refuses to get close to anyone after his soccer career ended so tragically. However, as he spends more time with Su-jin, Jin begins to see himself in her, and new desires begin to awaken in him. Eventually, Jin rediscovers his passion for the game, and decides to return to soccer.

Mi-hee Chang plays Mi-ae, Jin’s ex-girlfriend who is now dating another soccer player named Noh. Noh and Jin were teammates before Jin’s injury. Even though Mi-ae and Jin were no longer together, they still had feelings for each other. However, their relationship becomes more complicated when Jin decides to make a comeback.

The film is a visually stunning and emotionally powerful drama that explores many themes, including redemption, loss, and the nature of human connections. The movie is beautifully shot, with picturesque landscapes and intimate moments that convey a sense of intimacy and closeness to the characters.

The performances of the cast were nothing short of incredible. Joe Odagiri gave an outstanding performance, portraying Jin’s troubled and bitter personality with a depth and authenticity that drew the audience into his character.
