In the movie Dragon Wasps, a group of scientists led by entomologist Dr. Charlie Minor (Corin Nemec) are sent to a military base in the jungle of Belize to investigate reports of a rapidly mutating wasp species. The wasps are believed to possess a venom that can be used as a powerful weapon, and the military is eager to get their hands on it.
As they delve deeper into the jungle, the group is ambushed by a group of mercenaries led by Lark (Nikolette Noel), who is also after the wasps. In the chaos, one of the scientists, Dr. Gina Humphries (Dominika Juillet), is abducted by the mercenaries.
The remaining scientists continue their mission and discover that the wasps have indeed mutated, growing to enormous sizes and developing a symbiotic relationship with a local dragon species. They also realize that the venom of the wasps is deadly to humans, but has a sedative effect on the dragons.
With the help of local guide Ramona (Judy Cerda), the scientists set out to rescue Dr. Humphries and stop the mercenaries from taking the wasps. Along the way, they are forced to navigate treacherous terrain, battle giant wasps and fend off attacks from the mercenaries.
The movie is a blend of action, adventure, and science fiction elements, with a healthy dose of humor thrown in. The special effects are impressive, particularly the scenes featuring the dragon wasps. The performances by the cast are also strong, with Corin Nemec providing a likable and charismatic lead.
Overall, Dragon Wasps is an entertaining and original addition to the sci-fi/action genre. While it may not be the most groundbreaking movie of all time, it's definitely worth a watch for fans of the genre.
