Double Vision is a Taiwanese-Hong Kong thriller movie directed by Chen Kuo-fu and released in 2002. It is a mystery-drama movie that stars Tony Ka Fai Leung, David Morse, and Rene Liu, among others. The movie takes place in Taipei, Taiwan, where a string of gruesome murders occur. The murders seem to be committed in a ritualistic manner, all the victims being male, with their hearts cut out of their bodies. The only hint of a connection between the victims is that they all have visited the rural town of Yun County before their murder.

Tony Ka Fai Leung plays Huang Huo-tu, a Taiwanese-American cop who is sent from the United States to help investigate the murders. He is paired with local cop, Wei-Ting (played by Rene Liu), and they start working together to solve the case. Leung's character Huang is not very popular with the local police force, as he is seen as an outsider and is unaware of local customs and traditions. Huang's background as a forensic pathologist comes to use in the murder case, where there are no leads.

David Morse plays Kevin Richter, a former FBI agent who is now working as a security advisor for a multinational corporation. His company's CEO becomes Huang's main suspect in the murder case, as he fits the profile of a serial killer and has ties with the victims. Huang believes that Richter's former association with the FBI and his knowledge of forensic science can be helpful in solving the case.

As the investigation deepens, Huang and Wei-Ting begin to uncover a series of shocking secrets. They discover a cult-like group in Yun County that practices a form of ancient Taoism that involves self-mutilation and sacrificial offerings to the gods. They realize that the murders are linked to this secretive group and try to penetrate it.

Double Vision is a movie that keeps its audience at the edge of their seats with its gripping storytelling and an engaging plot that sustains the mystery till the end. The movie also provides a glimpse into the customs and religious beliefs of Taiwan, its local cuisines, and lifestyle.

The cinematography of the movie is visually stunning, providing a sense of beauty and eeriness to the shots, which are often in contrast to each other. The use of color filters and lighting creates the desired atmosphere to accompany the storyline.

The performances from Tony Ka Fai Leung, David Morse, and Rene Liu are exceptional, with each of them bringing their respective characters to life. The trio also creates an excellent chemistry on-screen, which adds to the authenticity of the movie.

Double Vision is a movie that would appeal to fans of crime thrillers and mysteries alike. It combines elements of horror, suspense, and myth in a unique and creative way to make it a thrilling and engaging watch. The movie's suspenseful storyline is bound to keep viewers hooked till the end.
