Double Trouble is a 1992 comedy-action movie directed by John Paragon and starring Peter Paul and David Paul as twin brothers, Chad and Alex Wagner. The movie is set in Los Angeles, where the twin brothers are expert martial artists and heavily muscled body builders. They run a successful fitness center by day and work as nightclub bouncers by night.
The story begins when Chad and Alex's fitness center is threatened with foreclosure due to their unpaid bills. Desperate to save the gym, the brothers take a job from a wealthy but unscrupulous businessman named Morovich (Roddy McDowall). Morovich hires them to escort his daughter, a beautiful woman named Rayne (Julie Strain), who has been targeted by some dangerous and violent criminals.
However, things take a complicated turn when the brothers discover that Rayne isn't quite the innocent victim they thought she was. In fact, she is an undercover federal agent, investigating Morovich for his various white-collar crimes. Chad and Alex are forced to navigate a web of lies and deception as they attempt to protect Rayne and help her bring Morovich down, all the while avoiding the criminal syndicates that are hot on their trail.
As the story unfolds, Chad and Alex find themselves in one entertaining action-packed scene after another. The movie is full of over-the-top action sequences that showcase the Paul brothers' impressive physique and martial arts skills. From chasing bad guys on motorcycles through the streets of L.A., to hand-to-hand combat with elite assassins, the brothers show off their extraordinary strength and athleticism in every scene.
The humor in the movie is mostly physical and slapstick, but it works well with the overall tone of the film. The Paul brothers, with their odd sense of humor and sense of fun, carry the movie well with their on-screen charisma and infectious energy. They also play off each other's strengths, showcasing their real-life brotherly bond throughout the movie.
Roddy McDowall delivers a solid performance as Morovich, the sleazy businessman who hires the brothers to protect his daughter. He brings a layer of charm and charisma to the role, despite the character's devious nature. Julie Strain adds an interesting element to the film as Rayne, the tough-as-nails federal agent who isn't afraid to take on the bad guys on her own.
Overall, Double Trouble is a campy and entertaining action movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's a fun ride from start to finish, with plenty of humor and plenty of action. It's a perfect movie for fans of the Paul brothers, fans of the action-comedy genre, and fans of over-the-top, 90s movies. If you're looking for a mindless yet exciting escape, Double Trouble is definitely worth checking out.
