Double Target is a 1987 action-packed thriller directed by Bruno Mattei, starring Miles O'Keeffe, Donald Pleasence, and Bo Svenson. The film takes place in a fictional Latin American country where a ruthless general, Mendez, is in control. The general's corrupt regime has oppressed the people and has pushed a group of rebels to rise up against him. The rebels don't trust each other, and the situation becomes complicated when a pair of American hitmen arrives in the country to carry out an assassination mission.

Miles O'Keeffe plays Charlie, a former Navy SEAL turned mercenary who is hired by one faction of the rebel group to assassinate General Mendez. However, his partner, Tony (played by Mark Gregory), has his own agenda, and soon the two hitmen find themselves on opposite sides. Meanwhile, another group of rebels, led by Sergio (played by Bo Svenson), is fighting for the same cause. As the two hitmen try to complete their mission, they run into Sergio and his team, who mistake them for enemy agents.

Enter Donald Pleasence, who plays the role of the sinister intelligence officer, Hernandez, whose motivations and allegiances are not entirely clear. Hernandez appears to be manipulating events from the shadows, and it remains to be seen whose side he is on.

The film is a typical 80s action flick, with plenty of gunfights, car chases, and explosions. The acting is mostly serviceable, with Miles O'Keeffe delivering a decent performance as the tough-as-nails hitman, Charlie. Bo Svenson, who appeared in the original Walking Tall film, is also enjoyable in his role as the rebel leader, Sergio. However, Donald Pleasence steals the show with his performance as the enigmatic Hernandez. His mere presence adds an air of unpredictability and tension to the film.

The movie's plot is simple enough, but it also manages to touch on themes such as political corruption, betrayal, and the futility of violence. The film's locales, which were filmed in the Philippines, give the movie a gritty, exotic feel. The action scenes are well-executed, with plenty of stunts and practical effects. However, the film's pacing can sometimes be uneven, with some scenes feeling rushed while others drag on for too long.

Overall, Double Target is an entertaining action movie that provides enough thrills and excitement to satisfy fans of the genre. The cast delivers solid performances, and the film's exotic locations and practical effects add to its charm. If you're in the mood for a cheesy, 80s action flick with explosions, guns, and reliable actors, Double Target is definitely worth checking out.

Double Target is a 1987 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 42 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.6.
