Domestic Disturbance is a 2001 thriller movie directed by Harold Becker, starring John Travolta, Nick Loren, and Matt O'Leary. The movie tells the story of Frank, a divorced father who discovers that his ex-wife's new husband is not who he seems to be. Frank Morrison, played by John Travolta, is a boat builder who lives in the fictional town of Southport, North Carolina. He divorces his wife Susan, played by Teri Polo, and moves on with his life.

However, his son Danny, played by Matt O'Leary, is not pleased with the separation and blames Frank for the split. So, when Susan starts dating Rick Barnes, played by Vince Vaughn, Danny is not excited about the new man in his mother's life.

Despite his reservations, Frank tries to be civil with Rick for the sake of his son. However, things take a turn for the worse when Danny witnesses Rick killing a man while on a fishing trip.

Danny tries to tell his mother about the incident, but she doesn't believe him. Rick, on the other hand, knows that Danny saw what he did and goes out of his way to ensure the boy's silence.

As Rick's behavior becomes more erratic and dangerous, Frank realizes that he needs to protect his son from the man who is now his stepfather, and he goes to the authorities for help. However, when his claims go unheeded, Frank takes matters into his own hands.

From there, the situation escalates into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse as Rick tries to silence Danny and Frank races against time to protect his son and bring Rick to justice.

Domestic Disturbance is a well-crafted thriller that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. John Travolta delivers a solid performance as the concerned father who will stop at nothing to protect his son.

Vince Vaughn is also excellent as the sinister stepfather who is hiding a terrifying secret. His character is a departure from the comedic roles he is best known for, and he nails the role of the creepy villain.

Matt O'Leary gives a good performance as Danny, the troubled boy who is caught in the middle of the escalating conflict between his father and stepfather. He convincingly plays a boy who is struggling with the trauma of witnessing a murder and trying to convince the adults in his life of what he saw.

The writing is well-done, with a tight plot that keeps the audience engaged from start to finish. The tension builds steadily throughout the movie as the stakes get higher and the danger more imminent. There are several tense and suspenseful scenes that are sure to leave viewers on the edge of their seats.

The movie also benefits from its coastal North Carolina setting, which adds to the ambiance of the story. The town of Southport is picturesque and charming, but also feels somewhat isolated and remote, which adds to the feeling of danger and unease.

In summary, Domestic Disturbance is a well-crafted thriller that features strong performances from its lead actors and a tight plot that keeps viewers engaged throughout. It's a movie that is sure to appeal to fans of the genre and is well worth a watch.
