Dishoom is a 2016 Indian action-comedy film, directed by Rohit Dhawan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film stars John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles, with Akshaye Khanna in a negative role. The movie is a perfect blend of action, comedy, and drama that goes on to keep the audience on the edge of their seats throughout.

The movie revolves around the kidnapping of a top batsman from the Indian cricket team just before the final match of the series between India and Pakistan. The kidnapping is done by a bookie named Wagah, played by Akshaye Khanna, who wants to take revenge on Viraj Sharma, the Indian cricket team's captain, who he believes has ruined his life. The Indian authorities are clueless about the whereabouts of the cricketer, and thus, the case is handed over to two cops, Kabir Shergill (John Abraham) and Junaid Ansari (Varun Dhawan).

Kabir is an honest, no-nonsense cop, who believes in getting his job done by hook or crook. On the other hand, Junaid is a happy-go-lucky cop, who loves his job but considers it just a means of earning a livelihood. The two cops are poles apart in their thinking but are united in their mission to bring back the cricketer and save the Indian cricket team's integrity.

The plot takes the two cops on an action-packed adventure as they travel to the Middle East to find the kidnapped cricketer. They have to cross several hurdles, outsmart Wagah at every turn, and work against a ticking clock to save the cricketer and not jeopardize the Indo-Pak match. Along the way, they meet a beautiful dancer, Ishika, played by Jacqueline Fernandez, who joins them on their mission.

The film has a lot of high-octane action scenes, with John Abraham and Varun Dhawan displaying their impressive stunts and incredible chemistry. Jacqueline Fernandez also shines in her role, providing the much-needed comic relief in the film. Akshaye Khanna, after a hiatus, returns to the big screen and masterfully portrays the cunning and manipulative bookie Wagah.

Apart from the action and comedy scenes, the movie is also a visual treat for its exotic locations and brilliant cinematography. The movie has been shot in various locations such as Abu Dhabi, Morocco, and Austria, which add to the film's overall grandeur.

One of the standout elements of the movie is its music. Composed by Pritam, the songs are peppy and foot-tapping, making it a perfect soundtrack while on the go. The film's title song 'Dishoom' is a popular party anthem and still enjoys immense popularity.

Overall, the movie is a perfect choice for action-comedy film lovers, as it packs in a lot of entertainment and engagement. The film's brisk pace, brilliant performances, and impressive action scenes make it a must-watch for anyone looking to have a good time at the movies.

Dishoom is a 2016 comedy with a runtime of 2 hours and 4 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.1.
